How long will the batteries last?
In-house testing showed that batteries in the Galvanic Spa II Instrument lasted several months with normal usage.
The new instrument feels lighter than the last. Why is that?
Because Galvanic Spa II treatments can last up to five minutes, the instrument was designed to be lighter to reduce muscle fatigue.
How do I change the conductor attachments?
To release a conductor: With your free hand on the conductor being released, hold the instrument with the chrome activation panel facing you and press on the release button firmly with your thumb until the conductor is released from the instrument.
To attach a conductor: Hold the instrument with the display side
up and hold the conductor with the positioning indicator (small etch) facing you. Press firmly to snap the conductor into place. If the conductor fails to attach, make certain the conductor is positioned correctly. Forcing the conductor could damage both the instrument and the conductor. The instrument will not work
unless the conductor is attached correctly.

In other words, what does my scanner score mean / what is a good and what is bad score and how is it measured?
Each 1000 unit of a scan score represents 0.04 mcg of carotenoid per millilitre of blood.

The correlation of serum-carotenoid concentrations to Scanner Scores is a linear equation and differs slightly (vary slightly) from study to study (based on the individuals in that study). The first serum correlation study conducted in 2004 yielded data that suggested 0.04 mcg carotenoid/ml blood serum = 1000 points on the SCS scale. The second serum correlation study (conducted later in 2004) yielded data that suggested 0.06 mcg carotenoid/ml blood serum = 1000 points. Again the reason for the change from study to study is which individuals are included as participants.

The following equation is based on the second correlation study (therefore 0.06 mcg/ml blood is more accurate to THIS second correlation study.. but this does not mean the second study is more accurate, it simply means there is a range of serum values falling between 0.04 and 0.06mcg that can be equated to 1000 points on the SCS scale). The following formula will predict scanner scores with an accuracy of + or - 6,000. The formula is:
y=12703x + 5891.7
(Where 'y' is the scanner score, and 'x' is the serum value)
This is the same linear equation that kids learn in Junior High School (y = mx + b), where y is the value on the y axis; x is the value on the x axis; m is the slope (rise over run), and b is the y value when x is equal to zero.

The equation y=12703x + 5891.7 can be used to predict the estimated serum concentration of carotenoids when the scanner score is known (or, if the serum value is know, it will predict scanner scores).

The y value is the scanner score, and the x value is the serum concentration represented in micrograms per millilitres. For example, if we knew that the scanner score was 25,000, you can plug that in for the y value (like this):
25,000 = 12703x + 5891.7

Using simple math, the problem works out as follows:
(subtract 5891.7 from each side) ……25,000 – 5891.7 = 12703x
(divide both sides by 12703) ……….19,108.3/12703 = x
Therefore the x value (which is the predicted serum concentration)is equal to 1.50 mcg/ml.

This same formula can predict scanner scores if you already know the serum value, you would just plug in the x value instead of the y value.

If you play around with this equation you will see that it does not predict serum values of very low SCS and very high SCS to be in the 0.04mcg to 0.06 mcg range. This is simply due to the fact that the correlation is not a perfect "r = 1.0" (which would never be anticipated in the biological sciences). Instead the correlation in the second study was an impressive r = 0.82. The closer the "r value" is to a perfect 1.0 the better the formula will predict a serum score in the 0.04 to 0.06 range, even the high and the low scores. Always you will find that scores in the middle of the bell curve are more accurately predicted. These are simple laws of statistics.

Before performing this demonstration, explain that all galvanic instruments use electrical charges to facilitate the transport of key ingredients for maximum benefit. An important characteristic of electrical charges is utilized by these instruments: like charges repel each other and opposite charges attract each other.

If a key ingredient is negatively charged, the negative cycle of the Galvanic Spa II Instrument will repel this ingredient - facilitating its transport. In the same way, if the ingredient is positively charged, the instrument will facilitate transport when the cycle is positive. If there are impurities within the skin that need to be pulled out, they will be extracted with an opposite charge. To intellectually demonstrate how Galvanic Spa System II currents work synergistically with specially formulated products to facilitate the transport of select key ingredients, use magnets on a magnetic board. Follow the steps below:
1. Obtain a magnetized board and several magnets (it's best if the magnets are wheel-shaped, in this way they will roll across the board).
2. Draw or paste a picture of a face onto the magnet board.
3. Place one of the wheel-shaped magnets on the edge of the face.
4. Connect two of the magnets to create a magnet slightly larger
than the one on the edge of the face.
5. Use the north pole of the larger magnet to push the north pole of the smaller magnet onto the face. Explain that the Galvanic Spa II Instrument uses the polarities or charges of particles with the charge of the head of the instrument to transport ingredients into the skin.
6. Now, if you place the north pole of the larger magnet toward the south pole of the smaller magnet, it will now pull it out of the face. Explain that this represents how the instrument can pull toxins and impurities out of the skin with opposite polarities or charges.

The Galvanic Spa can be used whilst you are using other products as well. The Galvanic Spa is a Treatment. The neg/pos is in both the machine and the gels. During your first part of the treatment (ie the pre-treatment) the gels are pushed into the skin (ie gels are negative and the machine is also negative, and these currents repel each other). Then the Treatment Gels (ie the second round) are positive as well as the machine, which then pushes the treatment into the skin , whilst it also now attracts the impurities (of the first pre-treatment) which are negatively charged.
